DR. ANDREW VASSALL
Educator, Author, Speaker, and Literacy Consultant
Dr. Andrew Vassall, with over two decades of experience in urban and suburban education, earned a Masters and Doctorate degree specializing in reading and literacy to better serve underachieving students. He gained their trust by listening to their struggles and created diverse, respectful stories based on their experiences. As an African American male, he overcame a learning disability and now, as a doctorate holder, he’s in a unique position to write stories that resonate with students. He’s also a 2023 Teacher of the Year Semi-Finalist in Pennsylvania, nominated by a parent of one of his students. His personal journey and connections inspire his stories.

Dr. Vassall’s as an educator, believes it is his job to serve by providing guidance, support, and resources to help struggling readers in underserved communities. Dr. Vassall believes that personal connection can support literacy development and reduce the achievement gap of underserved students in all communities.
